Come Visit Pack 235
Thinking about Cub Scouts? The best way to learn about Pack 235 is to come visit us.
Your family is welcome to attend a meeting, meet our leaders, and see what Cub Scouting is like. There is no obligation to join, and your child does not need a uniform for the first visit.
When and Where We Meet
Pack 235 usually meets on the second and fourth Sundays of each month during the school year.
Time: 2:30–4:30 p.m.
Location: Fort Hill Presbyterian Church, Clemson, South Carolina
Occasionally, a holiday, outing, or special activity changes the schedule. Please check our calendar or contact a leader before visiting.
Who Can Join?
Cub Scouting is open to boys and girls in kindergarten through fifth grade. Scouts are organized into dens by grade:
- Lion: Kindergarten
- Tiger: First grade
- Wolf: Second grade
- Bear: Third grade
- Webelos: Fourth grade
- Arrow of Light: Fifth grade
Families may join at any time during the year. Lion and Tiger Scouts attend meetings and activities with an adult partner.
Uniforms—Do Not Buy Everything at Once
For Pack 235, the Cub Scout uniform shirt is the only required clothing item. Official Scout shorts, pants, skirts, socks, and hats are optional. Scouts may wear ordinary appropriate clothing with their uniform shirt.
Before buying uniform pieces, ask a leader about our Swap Box. It may contain donated uniform parts, handbooks, or other Scout gear available at no cost. Inventory varies, and available items are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Every new Pack 235 Scout also receives a Pack T-shirt.
What Do Cub Scouts Do?
Pack 235 provides activities for Scouts and their families throughout the year, including:
- Den and Pack meetings
- Pinewood Derby
- Raingutter Regatta
- Camping and overnight trips
- Hiking and outdoor activities
- Community-service projects
- Holiday and special Pack events
- Blue and Gold Banquet
- Summer activities
- Advancement and crossover ceremonies
Some special trips and council events require separate registration or fees. Families who are not ready to camp overnight may sometimes participate during the day. If you need camping equipment, ask a leader; the Pack may be able to help locate gear.
What Is the Time Commitment?
Most families attend two Sunday meetings per month, along with optional outings, service projects, camping trips, and special events.
Cub Scouting is a family-oriented program. Parents and guardians are encouraged to attend, help their Scout, and participate in Pack activities.
Your Child’s Safety
Pack 235 follows Scouting America’s youth-protection policies. Registered adult leaders complete required youth-protection training and background checks, and Pack activities follow two-deep leadership requirements.
